BASICS The airport is 26 miles (42 km) north of the center of Stockholm. There is a tourist information counter in the arrivals area where you can pick up city maps and general information.
TAXI Plenty of taxis are available in front of the terminal. The fare is metered and will be about 300-350 kronas ($35-$41) including tip. The trip takes 30 to 40 minutes.
BUS Flygbussarna Airport Coaches run buses between the airport and Stockholm City every five minutes from 6 A.M. to 8 P.M., and 4 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. At all other times the bus leave every ten minutes. The cost is 60 kronas ($7).
ARLANDA EXPRESS Newly innaugurated in November 1999, the Arlanda Express train runs between the airport and downtown Stockholm in 20 minutes. The schedule is posted on the Web site, but there are usually four trains an hour during business hours. The cost one-way for an adult is 120 kronas ($22).

RENTAL CAR All the major car rental firms have counters at Arlanda Airport. If you plan to travel outside the downtown area, a rental car is highly recommended.
