BASICS The airport is 14 miles (23 km) east of the center of Singapore. TAXI Taxis are available 24 hours a day outside the arrivals halls in Terminals 1 and 2. The fare to the city center is about $20 Singapore dollar ($14) with a travel time of around 25 minutes. The fare is slightly higher from midnight to 6 A.M.
BUS If you are traveling light you can take a Singapore public bus. Buses leave from the lower levels of Terminals 1 and 2 for the city center about every 15 minutes, from 6 A.M. to midnight. The fare is about $2 Singapore dollar ($1). Buses are clean and a good way to get to the city center if you don't need a commodious luggage rack for your many valises.
AIRBUS The coaches run about every 20 minutes, from 6:20 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. and conveniently drop you off at most downtown hotels. Fare is $5 Singapore dollar ($3) and tickets can be purchased at the Airbus counters in the arrivals halls. If you purchase your ticket on board, you must pay with exchange change.

RENTAL CAR All the major car rental firms have counters at Changi Airport. If you plan to travel outside the downtown area, a rental car is highly recommended.
