BASICS The airport is located 17 miles (27 km) northeast of the center of Munich. There is a tourist office is located in the airport and the Hauptbahnhof (central rail station).
TAXI Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. The cost is high, about 75 deutsche mark ($40), because of the distance. The trip will take about 30 to 45 minutes to the center of Munich.
TRAIN The S-Bahn suburban train, line S-8, leaves frequently from the Flughafen Munich S-Bahn Station for the center of Munich. Stations Marienplatz and the Hauptbahnhof (central rail station) are the stops in the center. The trip will take 20 minutes and the cost is about 14 deutsche mark ($7). Follow the signs as you leave the customs area to the S-Bahn Station.
BUS Lufthansa operates shuttle bus service from outside Module A at the central terminal. The buses run every 20 minutes during the day. The fare is 15 deutsche mark ($8), and the buses go the Munich Central Rail Station (Hauptbahnhof).
