BASICS The airport is located 9 miles (14 km) west of central Glasgow. The airport Web site is part of the BAA Web site with links to seven British airports. BAA is British Airport Authority. TAXI Taxis are available from just outside the terminal building. They are metered and the fare to the center should be about £15 ($24). Travel time is about 20 minutes.
BUS Citylink Buses leave the airport every 20 to 30 minutes between 6 A.M. and midnight and on Sundays, between 7:20 A.M. and 11:30 P.M. They go to Glasgow Central (Buchanan) Railway Station, and the main bus stations. Fare is £3 ($5) with a travel time of about 20 minutes.
FROM GLASGOW TO EDINBURGH:
BUS Scottish Citylink Coaches leave Glasgow Airport, stop at the bus station in central Glasgow, then continue on to St. Andrews Bus Station in central Edinburgh. The fare is about £6 ($10) and the trip takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
TRAIN Take a taxi to from the airport to Glasgow Queen Street Station, then catch a train to Edinburgh Waverly Station. Trains leave every 30 minutes for the 50-minute journey, and the fare is £6 ($9). Taxi fare from Glasgow Airport to the train station is about £12 ($19). The station is two miles from the terminal and can be reached by car or bus.
TAXI Taxis are available to make the trip to Edinburgh, but the fare is about £70 ($105) for the 70 to 85 minute trip.
