George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

BEST WAY DOWNTOWN: Bus

BASICS
Houston Intercontinental is located 22 miles (35 km) north of central Houston. The airport's Web site offers no maps but some useful information, including:

TAXI
Taxis to downtown hotels will cost from $26 to $32 depending on traffic. Travel time to downtown can range from 30 to 60 minutes.

BUS

Texas Busline's Airport Express (713-523-8888) operates a good bus service. Buses leave the airport for downtown every 1/2 hour from 7:00 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. See if the bus stops near your hotel; if it doesn't, you can likely take it all the way downtown and hop a cab to your final destination.
The fare is $16 to downtown. Buy your ticket at the Airport Express counter near the baggage-claim area. Getting downtown will take from 30 to 60 minutes.
