BASICS The airport is located eight miles (12 km) northeast of the center of Perth. The domestic and international terminals are six miles (10 km) apart. There's a tourist information desk in the international terminal.
TAXI The taxi is the best way to get to town. The fare is about 23 Australian dollars ($15) from the international terminal to city center, and is a short ride, about 15 minutes. Tipping is not essential, but will be well-appreciated when there is excellent service. Some drivers ask that you pay your fare in advance. This is customary.
BUS Airport-City bus service meets all flights within 45 minutes of customs clearance, and serves the major hotels. Cost is about 9 Australian dollars ($6). This is not a scheduled service so the bus may wait for one or two flights to arrive before leaving. The bus is cost effective but you may wait a while longer than if you took a taxi. Still, it's a good alternative if you are not pressed for time.
If you need to transfer between the international and domestic terminals (six miles apart), the bus service will cost about $5 Australian dollars ($3).
